THE STORY OF STRENGTH IN MOVEMENT

Experienced and accomplished athletes with a history of success laced with an abundance of abject failures.

Shaun and Stephen, both expert and experienced coaches have moved through the health and fitness business from cleaning kit, mopping floors and taking thousands of coaching sessions in one-to-one, large group and small group environments to developing the philosophy of Strength in Movement, i.e. combining the benefits of building strength allied to the fundamental human movement patterns to ensure optimum health and well-being.

Both physical and psychological.We can not divorce strength from health as we can not divorce movement from health. These tenets are inherently associated.

Strength In Movement is the only truly integrative movement and fitness facility in the country employing methodologies borne of the latest principles in sports science allied to movement patterns consistent with human evolution.

We have an integrated approach to human mobility, agility and strength utilising a variation of functional movements, athletic power development, resistance training and mobility protocols in a small group PT and 1-2-1 PT training environments.

Our mission is to create solid and lasting human movement foundations, i.e. posture and function, then develop pain-free movement, agility and strength for every day health as well as athletic excellence.

We are removing the traditional barriers to exercise which exists in commercial gyms.

We have no grunters, no posers and there will be zero intimidating factors at Strength In Movement.

We are a community of enthusiasts who support and encourage each other to get the best out of everyone

OUR VISION

SiM will provide a welcoming, comfortable, non-threatening and inclusive environment for first-time gym-goers, fitness enthusiasts, amateur athletes and elite athletes to allow them to achieve whatever goals they have.

Be this goal to run a marathon in record time, jump higher, lift more or simply bend over, squat down or walk without pain.

We know that human connections are an evolutionary staple for good health and SiM will nurture this to the benefit of the individual, the collective and the business.

At SiM we also want you to know what you’re doing and how to do it so we have dedicated education evenings where we explain the rudimentary philosophies, protocols and strategies for continued improvement.

It is our goal to assist in the personal development of every person/entity who touches theSiM brand and promote the life enhancing properties of community spirit, support and fun, strength, movement, functional fitness, health and wellbeing.

All our coaches come from an athletic/sports background and have enormous experience alongside our dedication to consistent professional development, sharing of ideas and having bundles of fun and some cake.

SHAUN GALLACHER

Founding Partner and Coach:

Highly experienced and fully qualified Personal Trainer with specialist interests in posture, human potential, body transformations and strength and conditioning.

Shaun is also talented and experienced semi-professional footballer with over ten years experience in the game at Junior level in Scotland.

Shaun, a highly competent and expert coach, has built a loyal following and client base throughout his career despite his dodgy haircut and taste in music.



STEPHEN TENNENT

Founding Partner and Coach:

Fully qualified and insured Personal Trainer with almost 40 years experience in the elite sports space as an athlete, coach, manager, mentor and business manager.

This extensive experience includes a business background founded in the sports, marketing and sports management sector throughout EMEA.

Among his clients he has coached and mentored athletes in the football, golf and alpine skiing including a four time Olympian.

Stephen is so old now even his children are stronger than him!
